Inside The Business Of Kardashian-Jenner Instagram Endorsements

A quick glance at the Instagram accounts of America’s Top-Earning Reality Stars and you’ll notice an affinity for detox teas, waist trainers and hair-improving vitamins. These aren’t spontaneous proclamations, but rather posts paid for by brands to advertise products to the celebrities’ sizable followings.

Take Kim Kardashian West: The highest-paid reality star boasts $51 million in annual earnings, and some 165.6 million social followers across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Though she is currently on a social media hiatus, in our June 2015 through June 2016 scoring period, Kardashian posted advertisements for at least eight different brands, ranging from jewelry to morning sickness medication.

Such posts can earn her around $300,000 a pop across platforms, sources say, which is on the upper end of the digital celebrity pay scale. These sponsored posts have become a new moneymaker for celebrities since FORBES last estimated the Kardashians’ earnings in 2013, when Kourtney, Khloe and Kim banked $10 million apiece. Stars of the Kardashian-Jenner ilk can now make upwards of $200,000 for each sponsored post.
